Just like your company emphasizes a great customer experience, the effort placed behind the employee experience for injury prevention and wellness should be just as important. Employees want to feel the company cares for their well-being. In turn, companies will find that paying attention to the injury prevention experience will reduce costs and safety risks.
Flexible, Personal Program Needed - 5 Generations in the Workforce
As you build the employee experience, it’s important to recognize an important change. Care of employees has become more complicated because, for the first time, the workforce includes 5 generations. Today’s injury prevention programs need to offer a wide range of coverage, forthe boomer with aches and pains to a millennial looking for convenient advice and help. A more personal touch is essential to meeting different needs.
To adapt, many companies have turned to a new approach – onsite injury prevention.
The program involves putting a physical therapist (PT) at company worksites. The PTs play a different role than an onsite nurse or athletic trainer, since they are trained to provide first aid and injury treatment as well how to prevent injuries. As the PT walks around and gets to know your team, employees enjoy being able to ask a familiar face for help or advice on how to move to prevent injuries. This in-person approach adapts much more easily to different employee needs than sending employees off-site for assistance.
It's Easier Than You Think
An onsite injury prevention program requires a small footprint but leads to a big impact.
